Dancers are about 240 children from nine local schools, and many are dressed up in the traditional dress of Trevithick's time. Bal Maidens worked at the top of the mines, helping to operate such things as the tin-stamps, which crushed the ore brought to the surface by the Miners. The children's dance is accompanied by miniature steam engines. ![]() Trevithicks Dance takes place at 2.30pm Dancers are people who live or work in Camborne. They are dressed in the Cornish colours of yellow and black. The dancers were traditionally followed up the main streets by steam engines of all shapes and sizes. The steam parade is now a seperate attraction. Details can be found here With 2008 being the 25th Trevithick-Day, The afternoon dance has been extended to return to Trevithick's statue outside of the library via Centenary Street and Trevenson Street.
